Senior Corps Program
The Senior
Companion Program consists
of healthy older adults who help other
adults live independently. Senior Companions
are volunteers age 60+ who provide
assistance and friendship to seniors
and other people
in the community who have difficulty
with daily living tasks. The service
they provide helps others live independently
in their homes instead of moving to
expensive institutional care.
Senior Companions assist
clients with paying bills, grocery
shopping, and finding
transportation to medical appointments.
They offer contact with the outside
world and usually serve two to four
clients.
