Service Learning
The Service Learning Center is a major
component of the Volunteer Center.
San Juan College offers a number of service
learning courses in all major disciplines.
The Center provides a Student's Guide
to Service Learning resource book
and assistance in selecting a community
service agency to meet the class requirement.
The Service Learning Center also
- supports faculty and students in
developing and implementing service
learning curricula,
- houses a service learning resource
library, and
- hosts the K-12 Regional Service Learning
Center for area schools.
- provides conferences and training
in Service Learning
Service Learning is "...a teaching
and learning method that connects meaningful
community service with academic learning, personal
growth, and civic responsibility."
