Building
Family Strengths
The
Family Resource Center believes that all
families have strengths. Sometimes, however,
there are roadblocks that prevent families
from reaching their full potential. The
Family Resource Center is designed to offer
guidance and access to resources to help
family members get back on track and to
work to prevent a crisis from becoming
overwhelming.
Open
to all San Juan County families, the
Family Resource Center (FRC) includes
a multimedia library of parent resources,
a toy lending
library, access to information
about choosing
child care and a complete listing
of services that assist children and
families in the county. Staff is available
to help locate appropriate community
resources, lead parenting classes,
assist with finding child care and
help families find resources to
meet their needs for food or housing.
The
program promotes family strengths and
stability and provides ways for families
to access the resources they need.
The
FRC attempts to address the many needs
of families in the county. The program
works with all families, including
single parent households, families
caring for elderly parents, grandparents
raising grandchildren and foster families.
