Dean of Students

Mark Norwood began his career at San Juan College in 2022 as an Employee Relations Specialist in Human Resources.  In April 2025, he was promoted to the Director of Testing and Accessibility Services where he served until October of 2026 when he was promoted to Dean of Students.

Mr. Norwood brings valuable experience in human relations, investigations, collaborative problem-solving, and student support. 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in University Studies with an emphasis in Social and Behavioral Sciences from New Mexico Highlands University, and an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from San Juan College.

In his current role, Mr. Norwood oversees the college’s student conduct process and serves as a Title IX Deputy Coordinator.  He also provides leadership for several student-focused departments and programs, including the Native American Center, Herencia Latina Center, Housing & Residential Life, and a range of support programs housed within Student Services:  TRIO Student Support Services & SSS STEM-H, TRIO Educational Opportunity Center, and TRIO Upward Bound.
