Night sky picture of stars and nebula, San Juan College Planetarium, AstroFriday

“The Mars Show” is a totally live presentation using the star projector and other computers to virtually tour the Red Planet! First, we will view Mars as a globe, then descend to the surface to view many of the landing sites for which we had successful robotic landing missions. Then, we will observe the night sky as it would appear from the surface of Mars!!  See such objects as the Martian moons Phobos and Deimos in the planetarium sky!

Showtimes

  • 6:30 p.m.
  • 7:30 p.m.

Admission

  • FREE
  • Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis—maximum seating capacity of 60 in the planetarium.
  • In order to preserve dark-adaption, there is no late admittance into the planetarium once the show has started!

Public Stargaze

If weather permits, we will offer a free public stargaze with telescopes at 8:30 p.m. in the courtyard behind the planetarium after the last show. There is no capacity limit for the stargaze, which will last a maximum of one hour.
