ENgaging LAtino Communities for Education (ENLACE)

ENgaging LAtino Communities for Education (ENLACE) aims to increase the education opportunities for all students who have been traditionally underrepresented in institutions of higher learning; preparing them to pursue success in postsecondary education and strengthening the educational pipeline. ENLACE’s statewide collaboration aims to empower communities to find their voices in the pursuit of social justice, educational access and equity.

At the very heart of ENLACE New Mexico are our students and families. They form the foundation of our visions, passion, work, core values and future. ENLACE’s family center initiative is based on the concept that student achievement improves when there is emotional and academic support from families and by integrating social and culture in their academic life.

ENLACE strengthens existing partnerships and creates coalitions among Hispanic-serving institutions, k-12 school districts, communities, businesses and others who are committed to increasing opportunities for underserved students. The program serves as a liaison between educational institutions, students, parents and community. ENLACE participants receive peer mentoring, academic support at all levels, college and financial assistance and guidance, graduation support, educational cultural programs and workshops, student organizations, leadership training, internships, service learning projects and community events.
