Bev Taylor is a multi-media artist who resides in Farmington. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. Bev began her professional art career as a calligrapher and lettering artist. Calligraphy led her to watercolor painting, collage, and handmade books. She was an instructor at San Juan College teaching Orientation to Art, Calligraphy, Watercolor, and Drawing. Her most recent work focuses on acrylic painting, collage and art journals. In 1995, Bev and her daughter opened Artifacts and The Studios in Farmington – home to 17 local artists who have working studios in the building. Bev’s artwork can be seen in the San Juan College Library, San Juan College School of Energy, Farmington Public Library, the City of Farmington Regional Animal Shelter, Farmington Museum as well as many private collections. Her sketchbook, “Textures of New Mexico” was recently added to the permanent collection of 40,000 sketchbooks in the Brooklyn Art Museum.
“Art had always been an integral part of my life. I am continually inspired by the natural world, colors, textures, and patterns and the infinite possibilities for creating artwork that it affords me,” Bev says. “I feel so very blessed to be an artist.”
