Indoor Climbing at the Health & Human Performance Center
One of the largest in the west, San Juan College’s indoor climbing wall has 6,000 square feet of climbing and features 17 top rope stations, 12 lead climbing routes, 2 roofs, a running crack, and a 600 square foot bouldering cave. The climbing wall routes are designed for beginners, intermediate, and advanced climbers. Our professional climbing staff will ensure a fun and safe time for all participants!
The climbing wall is available for SJC students, community members, group reservations, workshops and classes, annual bouldering competitions, and is an ideal place for birthday parties.

Birthday Parties & Group Reservations
Do you have a group interested in "learning the ropes?" Somebody's birthday coming up? Groups and parties can be scheduled anytime during HHPC operational hours.
A $25.00 deposit is required for all group reservations and birthday parties.
Reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.

Bouldering Competitions
The Health and Human Performance Center offers 3 annual competitions at the Indoor Climbing Wall. The competitions are a Red Point Bouldering structure. All are FREE to enter, some offer prizes, and all offer a good time and trophies!
Our Back to School, Halloween, and Valentine's Comps are all structured the same. Kids age 5 to 12 climb first followed by the Teen, Women, and Men divisions.
Classes
The San Juan College Outdoor Leadership, Education and Recreation Program offers an Introduction to Indoor Climbing course for credit/audit in the Fall and Spring semesters.
Classes are held at the San Juan College Health and Human Performance Center Climbing Wall and include some time in a classroom setting.
Workshops
Belay Testing:
Top rope and Lead climbing belay testing is offered Monday through Friday after 4 pm. Simply stop in and check in with climbing wall staff for details.
Boy Scout Climbing Merit Badge:
Boy Scouts can come to the indoor climbing wall and earn their Climbing Merit Badge. The workshop is based completely on Boy Scouts of America merit badge requirements. These workshops are scheduled upon request only and require at least 2 weeks advance notice. The cost includes a one day gym pass, equipment rentals, and instruction.
Cost: $30 per climber Minimum: 6 climbers Maximum: 12 climbers
Learn to Lead Climb:
This workshop provides a thorough introduction to indoor 'sport' lead climbing. You will learn proper belaying and clipping techniques, belayer-climber communication and numerous safety issues.These workshops are scheduled upon request only and require at least 1 week advance notice.
Cost: $25 per climber Minimum: 2 climbers Maximum: 6 climbers
