ADN Program Option

This is a two year program leading to an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). This nursing program option is offered in the traditional semester format over the course of 5 semesters. Class and clinical sessions meet mainly during daytime hours.

San Juan College Department of Nursing began admitting students into the statewide common curriculum through participation in the New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium (NMNEC) with student selection for fall 2014 prorgram entry.  With the currriculum redesign, the prerequisite and general education courses for application, selection and admisson to the associate degree nursing program have changed.

With this transition, San Juan College has also added a program application period and selection for a program cohort entry into the spring semester in addition to the previous fall only application period. Application packets will be available during open application periods.

Students who graduate from the Associate Degree Nursing Program (ADN) program option will be eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), and may continue on to enroll in a bacculaureate degree in a nursing (BSN) program offered at select four-year institutions.
