Academic Advisement & Planning

Educational needs will be assessed to provide information for the academic section of every participants Individualized Development Plan (IDP). Participants review their IDP each semester with the idea to expand their personal and academic goals. Each participant will also have advisement from an EDGE professional staff throughout the semester.

Academic advisors provide pre-registration advisement, drop in counseling and assistance in developing course schedules based on interests and talents of the participants. Educational needs will also be assessed and applied to each participants IDP. The IDP assesses students formulated academic goals every semester and then aides in student evaluation of goals, as well as refining their goals as necessary. In addition to the services mentioned, the academic advisor also assists students in using services provided by the Student Success Center, the Financial Aid Office, Counseling and Career Services.
