The San Juan College Library gallery will display “Time Fragments,” a series of oil paintings by artist Dale Latta, from April 17 through May 17. A reception will be held Sunday, April 27, from 2 to 4 p.m., in the Library.Latta creates post-modern representational paintings. His influences come from a range of modern and post-modern painters including Edward Hopper, Willem de Kooning, Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol and Chuck Close.

To render his pictures rich, active and engaging, Latta applies heightened color and fluid, assertive brushwork to images derived from reality.

Latta’s work has been displayed in art exhibitions at the Durango Arts Center and San Juan College Art Gallery, in the national juried shows Artists’ Alpine Holiday in Ouray, Colorado, and Northwest New Mexico Arts Council at Gateway Museum in Farmington, and in solo exhibits at A. Teasyatwho Gallery in Aztec and Deines Cultural Center in Russell, Kansas.
