Art of the SouthwestAugust 10 through August 26Opening Reception: Sunday, August 10, from 2 to 4 p.m.Dave Coleson uses traditional blacksmith forging techniques to create metal art. He has been designing and fashioning metal art for over 34 years, ever since attending his first blacksmith conference in Carbondale, Colorado. Coleson’s inspiration came from watching a blacksmith exhibition at the New Mexico State Fair. His styles include cowboy, Western, traditional, lodge-look, and custom design. Some of the items Coleson crafts are hat racks, mirrors, tables, door hardware, plant hangers, railings, chandeliers, vases, gun racks, and head- and footboards for beds.
