In this survey of the significant questions of human existence, students will have the opportunity to go beyond the materials covered in the classroom setting and gain a greater depth of understanding through a consideration of primary source material.
PHIL 298-41 HNRS: Nonviolence: Principles & Practice
This class will combine readings in the philosophy of nonviolence with practical skills in conflict and dispute resolution through mediation. Students will have the option, after the course ends, of signing up for practicum hours working with professional mediators in the community, and receiving a certificate in mediation themselves.
