Position Title:    Machinist
Days of Week:  
Monday-Friday, with some Saturdays

Position Description and Qualifications
Turning and milling of stainless steels and specialty alloys, assembly/disassembly of industrial equipment, heat treatment of steels, and other related activities. Fabricate new components or repair old components from shop drawings. Other duties as assigned. Offsite work may be required from time to time.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED; Vocational degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
Machine Experience: Manual lathe & knee mill required. Horizontal boring mill experience preferred. CNC experience a plus.
Material Experience: Carbon steel, 300 & 400 series stainless steels, duplex, brass/bronze.
Other: Drug test and physical required.
Successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills, be a team player, and have an appreciation for continual learning.

  *Read and interpret dimensioned prints and apply to manufactured parts
  *Setup correct feeds and speeds for a variety of material types (steel, aluminum, plastic)
  *Setup and safe use of various machinery (bench grinder, belt sander, manual mill, manual lathe,
   drill press, CNC Lathe, automatic and manual steel saws)
  *Evaluate all Machine Shop projects to determine type of work required and materials, manpower
    and equipment to be used
  *Interpret company policies as applied to employees and enforce safety regulations, standard
   operating procedures and quality standards
  *Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance,
   crew productivity and quality of product

Job Requirements
  *Machine Shop Technology Certification or related preferred
  *High School diploma or equivalent required
  *Recent Graduate or 3 years of experience operating and programing CNC precision machinery
  *Experience with Manual Lathe and Two Axis CNC Lathe CAD, setup and operation
  *Experience using micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges and calipers
  *Experience with part holding and fixturing
  *Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis throughout the day
