The San Juan College Library Gallery will display paintings by Bob Hogue from September 1 through 28.

Hogue is a Navajo artist who has been drawing as long as he can remember. It came so naturally to him that he assumed everyone could draw as easily as he could. Not until after he left boarding school, did Hogue realize what a gift he had.

Bob Hogue does pen and pencil drawings, as well as oil paintings of the beauty he sees all around – people, landscapes, animals, still life. He says, “Art is like what you see that feels so precious, that builds in your mind, like waking up early in the morning, going outside the front door to the east, stretching, hearing all those precious birds. That really opens my eyes to what art is.”
