Information Required From Instructors

In order to have the SJC Testing Center administer a make-up or other approved exam, instructors must submit a completed Faculty Instructions for San Juan College Testing Center Proctored Exams form.

Sufficient copies for all students taking exams must be provided.

Student names with ID numbers are also required.

You may either bring the exam(s) to the Testing Center or send them in a sealed interoffice mail envelope. We do not accept exams carried by students.

Please share the Rules for Use of the SJC Testing Center with your students.
They will be required to abide by these policies.

Rules for use of the SJC Testing Center

  1. The SJC Testing Center hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. You must arrive early enough to complete your testing by the time the Testing Center closes.

  2. You must show photo I.D. before being given any test. A driver’s license, tribal I.D., passport or other government issued photo I.D. are acceptable forms. Please don’t ask us to make any exceptions. Many tests require two forms of I.D. Your student I.D. may be used as a second I.D. for exams from San Juan College classes.

  3. Books and backpacks must be stowed in one of our lockers along with the items listed in numbers 4, 5, and 6.

  4. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in the testing rooms; this includes portable stereos, MP3 players, radios, or headphones. Cameras are not allowed.

  5. Food and drinks are not allowed in the testing room.

  6. Hats and digital watches are not allowed in the testing room.

  7. If scratch paper is authorized by your exam, we will supply scratch paper. All scratch paper—used and unused—must be turned in with the exam. We will also supply pencils.

  8. We cannot assist in your instruction. Please do not ask us to review test answers. This not only compromises the security of the test, but slows down the process for everyone else.

  9. Only people who are taking a test are allowed in our testing room.  The SJC Testing Center staff cannot be responsible for children or adults who require care and supervision.
