Academic Skills Assessment

ACCUPLACER™

The College Board's ACCUPLACER™ Computerized Placement Test is required of all SJC students enrolling in English or math courses (or any course with a reading, English, or math prerequisite), to ensure proper course placement.

The test takes approximately one and one-half hours to complete; however, the assessment is not timed and you may take as long as you need.  The subject areas covered are English Sentence Skills, Reading Comprehension, Arithmetic, and Beginning Algebra.  Students are encouraged to go the ACCUPLACER™ website for study guides and test preparation.
