Humanities Student Gallery

Connie Gotsch Show

May 5 through May 29

Opening Reception:
May 5, from 4 until 5:30 p.m.

The Humanities Gallery at San Juan College will show the photographs of Connie Gotsch from May 5 through May 29. A reception to meet the artist will be held May 5, from 4 until 5:30 p.m., in the Humanities Gallery.

Gotsch says, “My photography reflects my life. I like to travel and learn about new cultures. I interact with people best by talking to them; I photograph best by watching them in their environments and catching them unaware of me. I don’t ever intrude with my camera. I just peak into peoples’ lives.” She uses a blend of two photographic styles - shooting with small cameras to catch a moment, but with a deep appreciation for the printing techniques of Ansel Adams.

As well as being a photographer, Gotsch is a writer who has had two books, three short plays, and a short story published. She is program director at radio station KSJE-FM, and also produces award winning arts documentaries and arts interviews.
