Registering for VTDLP Classes

STEP 1: Apply to San Juan College

• Click on the yellow button labeled "New Students Apply Here" located to the left of the screen and follow the directions provided

 

Please Note: All applicants must meet San Juan College’s academic eligibility requirements to be considered a regular status student. For a listing of the specific requirements, please refer to the Academic Eligibility information as posted in the current Academic Catalog.

STEP 2: Complete Your Online Orientation

• Go to https://www.sanjuancollege.edu/studentonlineorientation/
• Select the type of student that best describes you (Hint: VETT students should generally select the first category “Online Student”)
• Complete the orientation

STEP 3: Advisement and Registration

• After attending the orientation, schedule a telephone advisement appointment with Sherry Hair via the following link http://www.sanjuancollege.edu/pages/5594.asp 
• Please note that students cannot register online through WebAdvisor for VETT courses until they have been cleared for registration by Sherry
• Go to http://www.sanjuancollege.edu/pages/3436.asp for academic calendar and important deadlines

STEP 4: Submit Transcripts

• Only official transcripts will be accepted by the Admissions Office. To be considered official transcripts, they must be sent directly from the school you attended to:

        San Juan College
        Admissions Office
        4601 College Blvd
        Farmington, NM 87402

• Transcripts may not have to be submitted before registering for or starting classes. However, if you are applying for financial aid, your financial aid application will not be processed until all transcripts are received.
• If this is your first time attending college, you may need to submit your high school or GED transcript.
• If you have previous college credit, you will need to submit transcripts from all colleges listed on your San Juan College application. Additionally, a high school transcript may be required, depending on the number of college credits that are accepted for transfer. Please call Sherry Hair at (888) 313-3838 for clarification on this requirement.
• Go to https://www.sanjuancollege.edu/pages/4736.asp to notify the Veterinary Technology Department that you have requested your official transcripts.

STEP 5: Activate Your San Juan College Email Account

• Approximately one week after making application to San Juan College, you will need to activate your offical San Juan College student email account.
• Go to the MySJC Portal and follow the directions provided for setting up a new student email
• If you will not be checking your mail on a regular basis, we strongly suggest you follow the directions to have it forwarded to your personal e-mail account.

STEP 6: To Preview A Class

• Contact Dr. David Wright at wrightd@sanjuancollege.edu for information on how to preview the program demo class.

STEP 7: Ordering Textbooks

• Go to http://www.sanjuancollege.edu/pages/3472.asp
• Here you will find information regarding required textbooks and how to order
• Be sure to order only from the book list for the semester for which you are registered
