Confused about Summer?

San Juan College is enrolling now for its three summer school sessions, the first of which begins Monday, May 11. Sessions for Summer I are for four weeks (ending June 5), eight weeks (ending July 2) and 12 weeks (ending July 31).

Students also can choose to start classes during Summer II (June 8) or Summer III (July 6) for four, six or eight weeks.

Pre-registration for both summer and fall is now ongoing for all continuing students, degree- and non degree-seeking.

Summer school is ideal for university students returning home for the summer, high school students wanting to get a head start on the fall semester and anyone who wants to earn college credits in a compressed time period. With three back-to-back four-week sessions, students can earn as many as 12 credits during the summer.

Classes are in subjects as varied as the traditional semester, and include core courses for transfer (i.e. math, English) as well as special topics.

Students may register for four-, eight- and 12-week sessions that begin May 11; four-, six- and eight-week sessions that begin June 8; and four-week session that begins July 6. Tuition payment is due the first day of class or before for all the sessions.

New students need to apply for admission, take the Accuplacer test, and sign-up for a new student orientation, at which time they then can register for classes. Two special orientation sessions are available for high school graduates and their parents – on May 6 and 13. Students must apply, test and register for these sessions to attend since space is limited. Call the Advising and Counseling center for further information at 566-3526.

Register online at www.sanjuancollege.edu or call the Office of Admissions and Records at 505-566-3300 for information.
