San Juan College to participate in a full scale County-wide Emergency Simulation Exercise Drill, THIS Saturday

San Juan College will participate in a full scale County-wide Emergency Simulation Exercise Drill, Saturday, October 12, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

San Juan College is participating in the drill with San Juan County, San Juan County Office of Emergency Management, Kinder Morgan West Regional Natural Gas Pipelines, and San Juan Regional Medical Center.  Pre-staging areas for this exercise will take place in the parking lot of Heights Middle School in Farmington, and the Bloomfield High School parking lot.

The drill will take place in several locations across the SJC campus, which include the Learning Commons, Student Center, Central Classroom Complex and the School of Trades and Technology. There may be police tape or barricades in these areas to accommodate the drill, which should not be crossed. There will also be people simulating injured victims. The campus is not closed; however, classes that are normally scheduled in these areas have been relocated or canceled, and instructors and students who are affected have been notified.  The Health and Human Performance Center (HHPC) will be open during regular hours on October 12.

The San Juan College Library will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 12. Other campus closures include Technology Trail, as well as Parking lot A (directly across from the Learning Commons), Parking Lot J (in front of the Trades and Technology Building), and half of Parking Lot P (north of the Child and Family Development Center).
