Roving with the Arts returns to KSJE
Roving with the Arts, the classical music and arts heard weekdays on San Juan College radio station KSJE 90.9 FM, is returning to the airwaves at 8 a.m., Monday, March 3. New host Leigh Black Irvin will provide listeners with classical music, arts news and author interviews. The program has been on hiatus from KSJE since the death of Connie Gotsch in 2012.
"We are very happy to be bringing Roving back to KSJE. This radio station prides itself as the cultural beacon of the Four Corners and Roving with the Arts was, and will be again, one of our most brightest lights." said Scott Michlin, KSJE General Manager. KSJE is the Four Corners only classical music radio station.
Irvin grew up in Farmington and is very involved in local performance arts. Leigh is a member of the Caliente Community Chorus and she, her husband Joel, daughter Alice and several other friends co-founded a local theater group, Bottom of the Barrel Productions. Leigh enjoys acting with her husband and their two daughters in many local theater productions. She is also a board member of the Connie Gotsch Arts Foundation, named after the late KSJE program director and dedicated to providing financial support for the arts in San Juan County.
"I am absolutely thrilled to be working at KSJE as the classical music and arts radio host. While it would be impossible to fill the impressive and unique shoes of the late Connie Gotsch, I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to continue to deliver quality classical music and arts coverage to the residents of San Juan County," Irvin said.
Roving with the Arts returns to KSJE 90.9 FM on Monday, March 3 at 8 a.m. The program can also be streamed online at www.KSJE.com.
