Eleven local San Juan College students have received scholarships from the Colleges Fine Arts Committee in recognition of their commitment to the arts.

Scholarships for $500 went to Anita Perez, music, theatre and arts student; Joshua Garcia, music student; and Aubrey Burbank, theatre student.

Scholarships for $300 went to Jovanna DiPomazio, music student; Uriah Lee, music student; and Derrick Lewis, art student who is studying painting.

Scholarships in the amount of $250 went to Rachel Talley, theatre student; and Shanette Blue Eyes, art student studying painting.

Scholarships for $200 were also awarded to Beau Betoni, art student; Matthew Bahe, art student; and Toby Begay, music and art student.

The committee awards scholarships each spring semester to continuing San Juan College students who are enrolled in one of the fine arts programs and who plan to continue their education. Students can be in music, art, theatre, photography or creative writing and can apply to renew the scholarship for a second semester.
