San Juan College Medical Lab Technology Program Open House

Ever wonder what happens to your blood specimen when it arrives in the laboratory? Want to know how they find out if you are anemic? Or if youre considering a career in healthcare, make plans to attend an open house hosted by San Juan College's Medical Laboratory Technology Program, Friday, April 27, from 2 to 4 p.m., in the Health Sciences Center, room 3210.

Held in conjunction with National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, April 22-28, students and staff will provide information about the program and career opportunities.

Medical Lab Technicians are essential members of the healthcare team. They analyze blood and body fluids to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing, treating, monitoring and preventing illnesses. Graduates from the program find careers in hospitals, physician offices, clinics, public health facilities, and other scientific employment. They can expect to earn approximately $20 per hour.
