SBDC My Business is Going to Make it..... Now What?

The San Juan College Small Business Development Center will partner with three local experts to address common items overlooked by business owners and to introduce them to the next steps of financial success in a workshop titled My Business is Going to Make It – Now What?

The workshop will be held Wednesday, January 23, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at the Quality Center for Business, located at 5101 College Boulevard in Farmington.  Topics covered will include Tax Planning, Liability and Wealth Management plans.

Tax planning is often considered an annual event.  Tom Stamper, CPA, will demonstrate why frequent reviews of where a business stands throughout the year can positively impact the bottom line.

Many business owners often expose themselves to incredible risk out of necessity and do not understand liability.  Pat Keating of The Walker Agency will discuss risk management topics and insurance issues.

A number of business owners have not been able to afford savings let alone retirement planning, and do not have succession or wealth management plans. David Finlayson of Swain, Finlayson & Puma, PC will discuss basic estate planning and legal musts for LLC’s and corporations.

There is a fee of $15 per person, payable at the door. Deadline for registration is Friday, January 18. For questions or to register contact Jill Bumby at (505) 566-3528 or by email at bumbyj@sanjuancollege.edu
