SJC Jazz Fest with Eve Fleishman
Experience jazz at its finest when the San Juan College Big Band and Jazz Combo in cooperation with area music teachers present the 14th annual Jazz Fest Concert, Friday, March 30, at 7 p.m., in the Henderson Fine Arts Center Performance Hall.
Guest artist, jazz vocalist, Eve Fleishman, will perform with backup provided by the SJC Big Band and Jazz Combo. Fleishman recently completed a national tour performing songs from her album Peace of Drama, which is based on a series of paintings.
Fleishman serves up a sound that is refreshingly new and strikingly familiar. She weaves together elements of smoky jazz, Motown pop, show tunes and even a dab of country folk to create a most unique listening experience. Since her days as a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Fleishman has honed her craft as a multi-faceted singer and songwriter.
Several songs from this album will be featured in the concert along with the artwork. You can hear excerpts from her albums by visiting her website, www.evefleishman.com.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. For further information, call the San Juan College Box Office at 566-3430.
