Coordinator of Disability Services
Laura Pate, Coordinator of Disability Services, B.A.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts In Human Services from Western Washington University. She has worked with people who have Severely Disabling Mental Illness, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Developmental Disabilities, and individuals with adult onset of disabilities. She has worked with people with disabilities in the institutional and community settings for over 26 years. She believes that individual, person centered support is crucial. Laura advocates for Academic Accommodations with Accountability.
Counselor/Advisors
Taylor Haskell, Counselor/Academic Advisor, M.A., L.P.C.C. #0095111
Taylor is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Antioch University Seattle. As a Mental Health Counselor, his focus is on helping students work through the multitude of life issues they face as they go through their college careers. Relationships, family concerns, anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress are some of the issues with which he is experienced. He is a Level II EMDR therapist and an EFT practitioner.
Sherrie Benally, Counselor/Academic Advisor, M.S.W.
Sherrie has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver. She is a licensed LMSW in New Mexico. She has experience working with individuals who are homeless and have substance abuse or mental health challenges.

Stacey Bradley, Academic Advisor, B.A.
Assiniboine (Ft. Belknap)
Stacey has a B.A. degree in Sociology, with an emphasis in Family Relations and Early Childhood Education, from the University of Montana. She also holds a Family Development Specialist Certificate from the University of Iowa School of Social Work and the National Resource Center on Family Based Services. Stacey particularly enjoys working with first-generation college students.
Susan Grimes, Academic Advisor, B.A.
Susan is a graduate of San Juan College and holds a B.A. degree in Humanities with a minor in Business Administration from Fort Lewis College. She has worked at San Juan College over the past 14 years in adult literacy, tutoring, and now academic advising. She enjoys working with all San Juan College students on their journey through higher education.
Amanda Robles, Academic Advisor, B.A.
Amanda holds a B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Accounting from Fort Lewis College. She expects to begin her Master’s program shortly. Amanda is following her passion for working with Adult Learners in post secondary education. She enjoys inspiring and advising all San Juan College students to reach their full potential.
Phyllis Tracey, Academic Advisor, B.A.
Navajo / Hopi
Phyllis has a B.A. degree in Sociology and Human Services from Fort Lewis College. Phyllis has been working at San Juan College for the past 25 years in various capacities. She enjoys working with all San Juan College students, assisting them with their educational goals and aspirations.
Office and Support Staff
Carolyn Fugate, Administrative Assistant, B.S.
Carolyn holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Fort Lewis College. She also holds a Teaching Certificate from Cal State University in Fullerton. She has worked in the education field at the middle school and high school levels. Carolyn has over 15 years in office experience. She is responsible for the administrative office duties, assists with greeting students and Accuplacer testing, and is the friendly voice on the phone..
Lilly Douglass, Administrative Assistant, A.A.
Lilly is a graduate of Farmington High School and San Juan College. In 2005, she earned an Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in English. Lilly has ten years of office work experience. Lilly enjoys working with students and staff at San Juan College. Lilly is the friendly face greeting visitors at the front desk. She also administers the Accuplacer and assists in other office operations,
Chainey Walker, Instructional Associate for Disability Services
Chainey assists student with disability services. She schedules testing in the Disability Services lab for students who test separately from the class, and oversees the Disabilities Services computer lab. She also helps administer the college placement test (Accuplacer) and assists in other office operations. Chainey is also currently a student at New Mexico Highlands University working on a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
