Welcome to TEC

Welcome to San Juan College’s Technical Education Center. Our goal is to prepare area high school students for college programs and entry into technical careers.

Jump start your career or college education! Take cool classes, get college credit, and technical training with San Juan College's Technical Education Center. We offer technical courses from drafting and web design to nursing and automotive technology. You can earn college credit for most TEC courses or get a start on a technical career. We want students to learn, succeed and even have fun!

Courses / Curriculum

Art
Orientation to art, beginning drawing, three dimensional design and industrial design sculpture.

Auto Body
Fundamental repair, welding and painting.

Automotive Technology
Includes basic brake service, suspension, alignment, circuitry design, engine repair and performance.

Basic Electronics Program
Circuitry design and analysis - a solid foundation for an associate's degree.

Building Trades
Residential building trades, maintenance and repair from foundation to roof. Includes lecture and hands-on building.

Computer Aided Drafting
Two- and three-dimensional design and computer animation

Cosmetology
From regulations and chemistry to hair styling and facials.

Diesel Technology
Basic theory of diesel operation and hands-on disassembly and assembly of diesel engines.

Firefighter
Science of fire and basic techniques for extinguishing fires.

First Responder
For emergency medical personnel.

Health Occupations
Medical terminology, covers various health careers while working in a health agency. Students work in the classroom and clinical setting.

Machine Shop Technology
Hands-on metal working and design.

Welding
Theory and practical applications of structural plate welding, safety, and hand-held torch cutting.
