Barbara Van Hook
PC Specialist

I came to the college as a student in the Fall semester of 1998 and have taken classes steadily since. In January of 2000, I was hired on as a computer lab assistant. I became a shift leader in August of that year. I received my Associate of Arts degree in May of 2001 and am currently pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Networking. I hope to someday become a network administrator. I have received both my A+ and Network+ certifications and hope to get my Server+ certification this year.
As a Shift Leader/Instructional Associate I, I am responsible for supervising the computer lab assistants and ensuring the labs run as smoothly as possible. I also provide a first line of support regarding any technical issues that arise in the labs and classrooms. Another of my responsibilities is to supervise the delivery of laptop carts when scheduled. On occasion, I have also acted as a guide for students searching for a specific classroom. I enjoy working with people throughout campus and am always willing to learn something new.
Personal interests: I enjoy playing World of Warcraft when I have the free time. I also like to make pottery on the wheel. Music is a long standing passion of mine and I can sing as well as play the piano and guitar. And when time permits, I like to read and embroider as well.
