Responsibilities include the propagating, planting, transplanting, cultivating, irrigating, watering, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, spraying, pruning, mowing and trimming of lawns, flowers, shrubs and trees, rakes leaves; loads and unloads brush, branches, rubbish and material; moves snow and trash; may assist in maintaining and repairing equipment; may operate truck and other motor vehicles; performs related work as required. Work hours are from 6:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Some flexible work hours may be required and occasional supervision of student workers and seasonal workers.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent, New Mexico Driver's License, and 2 years of related work experience required; Associates Degree preferred. Individual must have a working knowledge of gardening and grounds maintenance practices and procedures; skill in operating equipment used in gardening and grounds keeping; some knowledge of irrigation helpful; be willing to pursue job related training; have the ability to perform a variety of gardening and grounds keeping tasks; perform manual labor; follow oral and written instructions; work well with associates; and perform moderately heavy physical work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
