| Duties & Responsibilities: |
Duties include: scrubbing, mopping, waxing and polishing floors; dusting and polishing furniture; cleaning walls, woodwork, lavatories and kitchen; cleaning blackboards; emptying trash receptacles and removing from building; replacing light bulbs; cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas; emptying ash trays; cleaning and straightening conference rooms; cleaning locker rooms and shower areas; operating scrubbers, buffers and other required tools and equipment; performing minor repairs; may move and arrange furniture; perform related work as required. Position will be required to perform custodial duties at SJC Main Campus and extended campus centers. |
| Qualifications: |
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. A valid NM driver’s license is required. Limited knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies. Ability to perform moderate physical activity; to operate mechanical and non-mechanical cleaning equipment; ability to learn to operate equipment. Individual must be able to maintain positive working relationships, communicate effectively, and be able to speak, read and communicate in English. Physical Requirements: Varied standing and walking, bending, twisting and crouching. Must be able to lift and safely move up to 50 pounds multiple times and run heavy/awkward equipment. College will verify insurability of top candidate as a condition of employment. Subject to background investigation prior to employment.
