From Light to Dark Drawing with Color

November 13, 2008 - December 5, 2008

Reception: November 13 – 6 to 8 p.m.

“From Light to Dark Drawing with Color,” by Terri Michael will be the featured art exhibit in the San Juan College Humanities Art Gallery, Thursday, November 13, through Friday, December 5. The exhibit will open with a reception on November 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.

An art instructor at Navajo Preparatory Academy, Michaels teaches her students the method of drawing from light to dark, which entails lightly composing a drawing, and then bringing in shadows while leaving the light. She engrains this phrase and technique into her own artwork.

Michaels is a well versed and diverse artist, as well as a proficient graphic artist. This diversity serves her well as a high school art teacher and enriches her students’ experiences in art.

The Humanities Art Gallery is located on the second floor of the West Classroom Complex.

The Humanities Art Gallery is open
Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
