Fall Art Student Exhibit
November 21, 2008- December 12, 2008
Reception: November 21 – 5:30 to 7 p.m.
From paintings to pottery, the San Juan College Fall Art Student Exhibit will feature a fun and varied exhibit of artwork created by SJC art students, Friday, November 21 through Friday, December 12, in the Henderson Arts Center Gallery. An opening reception will be held November 21, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The exhibit also will feature a special display of place settings created by students enrolled in ceramics classes. The settings include plates, bowls and cups. The sets are not only decorative, but functional as well. Those visiting the exhibit are sure to appreciate how the students interpret their assignments and design their work with individual creativity. The exhibit will feature paintings, photography, pottery, three dimensional design, metal art, drawing and botanical illustration.
While at the exhibit, take time to enjoy the Hospice Charity Bowl event, which will be held:
- Thursday, December 11 — 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Friday, December 12 — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All proceeds benefit Northwest New Mexico Hospice.
The Hospice Charity Bowl Sale will be held Thursday December 11, from 9 am to 6 pm and Friday December 12, 9 am to 4 pm. The bowls will sell at $10.00 each and will include a serving of soup, take out bowls will be available. The soup will be catered by Mary’s Kitchen and there will be a vegetarian option available.
Along with this event the Faculty/ Advanced Student show and sale will have a great variety of original artwork for sale. This sale is a great opportunity to find that unusual gift for the holidays. All individual artist sales from this event will provide a 20% commission that will go to support next year’s Hospice Charity Bowl Sale.
The money collected from this event will go to Northwest New Mexico Hospice. It will be used by families whose loved one has been diagnosed with six months or less to live, regardless of income level or lack of insurance. Your donation is used to provide equipment, medicine and any other help or support needed by the patient or the family.
The Art Gallery is open
Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
