Health Sciences Center II Opens
San Juan College officially dedicated Phase II of the Health Sciences Center with a ribbon cutting and open house on April 29. The 15,000-square-foot addition houses two labs, classroom and administrative area for the Physical Therapist Assistant program, classroom and lab for Respiratory Therapy, as well as an office suite for the Emergency Medical Services program. These state-of-the-art learning environments allow students to learn skills in realistic scenarios. Funding for this addition to the Health Sciences Center comes from the 2008 state-wide General Obligation Bond election, which designated $5 million for this project. Construction on Phase III will begin this summer, adding a microbiology lab and preparation area, biohazards storage, three faculty offices and paving for part of the adjacent parking lot.
