Management Certificate Program

The management certificate program provides educational training to those seeking career opportunities in leadership, management, and supervision. This 12-credit certificate can be earned in as little as one semester (based on full-time student enrollment, not all classes are offered every semester) and is fully transferable to the Associates of Applied Science Degree of Business Administration.

Our program complements your business education, teaching you how to seek out and create new information, to think critically, identify problems no one else has seen before and to propose solutions. This Emphasis is intended to provide the degree holder with the necessary expertise to enter as a managerial-level employee in any size business.

The Business Administration program provides opportunities for the business leaders of tomorrow to achieve a high-quality, high-value education that enables them to succeed in a competitive market. Interpersonal relations, leadership and decision-making are emphasized.

Recent decades have witnessed the phenomenal growth of service industries. The service sector of the economy now accounts for most of the job opportunities. This industry will continue to grow and serve national and international markets. As it does, it will need future leaders and managers with better education and broader perspectives.

The Management program prepares students for responsible supervisory and management positions in all types of organizations: business, government and non-profit.   Students become familiar with the opportunities and processes of management as they develop skills in planning, organizing, leading and controlling.

Students in management are introduced to the process of acquiring and using financial, human and physical resources in the pursuit of organizational objectives. Students are expected to develop a basic understanding of the social, ethical, legal and economic environments of business and nonprofit organizations. Emphasis is placed on developing a general background with a well-balanced understanding of business.

The certificate consists of four courses (12 Credits) that are designed for individuals in the mid-level management position.
