Request an Official Transcript
From your high school/GED and from all colleges where you have taken classes, be sent to the Enrollment Services Office. Your high school transcript MUST include your graduation date. Transcripts must arrive at the Enrollment Services office (mailed or hand delivered) in a SEALED envelope from the originating institution OR if the issuing institution has the ability to issue e-transcripts, they can send the transcript to firstname.lastname@example.org. No Financial Aid funds will be released until all transcripts have been received (high school and college). College transcripts will not be evaluated by Enrollment Services until you are enrolled for classes.

Apply for Financial Aid
Please submit your Financial Aid application online at www.fafsa.ed.gov Instructions and help with financial aid questions and for filling out forms can be found over the internet www.sanjuancollege.edu/financialaid , by phone (505)566-3512, or in person at the Financial Aid Office.
Smarter Measure is a Learning Readiness Indicator assessment meant to be an interesting experience by which you may learn more about yourself. It will take 35 minutes to complete. You only need to complete areas 1-5. Go to http://sjc.smartermeasure.com to complete this.
Meet with an Academic Advisor
You will need to meet with an advisor to discuss course options and degree plans. Appointments can be made by calling the Advising and Counselling Center at (505) 566 – 3526.

Complete the Accuplacer
Your advisor may recommend you complete the Accuplacer or portions of the Accuplacer. The Accuplacer tests you in Math, English and Reading to determine which level you need to begin in.
To schedule an exam appointment and complete the preregistration, go to the Testing Center webpage (www.sanjuancollege.edu/test ). In the blue box, click on ACCUPLACER. Take the Accuplacer on your scheduled test day/time at the SJC Testing Center, which is located in the Information Technology Center (Copper Top Building), RM 7120D. Contact the SJC Testing Center with any testing questions at (505) 566-3139.

Register for Courses
Register for courses using Academic Planning tool found in the student portal. Registration dates are posted in the Academic Calendar.
Pay your Tuition
It is your responsibility to know the tuition deadline and to pay for your classes by that date. Please check the Academic Calendar for information concerning tuition dates and deadlines. Automatic payment plans are available through the Student Payment Plan. Additionally, tuition can be paid over the internet, by phone (505) 566-3396, or in person at the Business Office. Questions?
