An Opportunity for Advanced Leadership Training
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Leadership San Juan College is to identify, educate, and encourage emerging leaders of diverse backgrounds, occupations and cultures for the purpose of A) Enhancing the quality of leadership at San Juan College; B) Encouraging relationships across departments and areas at San Juan College; and C) Promoting an understanding of leadership across the college and the community.
APPLICATION INFORMATION
We encourage applications from individuals who would benefit from this advanced leadership training. Full time employees of San Juan College are eligible. The class will consist of 8-10 individuals. Selection of participants will be based upon application, personal interview, and an effort to have a diverse class. Interviews will be conducted from September 20-28. The application deadline is September 10, 2010 at 5:00 PM MST. We will notify applicants of successful entrance into the 2010-11 class by 10-1-2010.

REQUIREMENTS
Attendance is required at five, half-day sessions as follows:
- October 15, 2010
- November 19, 2010
- January 21, 2011
- February 18, 2011
- March 18, 2011
For the most part, the sessions will run from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM in various locations around the college, which may include the School of Energy, East or West campuses.
There will be selected readings for each session to be prepared in advance. Each session will present a speaker or speakers.
If selected, the class will be required to organize and implement the 2011-12 class. This requires a retreat in late spring, some planning meetings in the summer and attendance for at least two of the following year’s class sessions.
