The Application Process

To be eligible for the TTEN program, you must be:

  • Age 18 or over at the time of the first dealership assignment
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • A high school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Able to meet San Juan College's admission requirements
  • Have a participating Toyota Motors dealership (SJC can help placing students)

STUDENT ADMISSIONS PROCESS

  • Student completes TTEN Application for admission. Submit directly to San Juan College, Automotive Department, 4601 College Blvd., Farmington, NM 87401.  Include the following documents with your TTEN application:

o                                Unofficial high school transcript or GED scores  

o                                Proof of a valid drivers license. 

o                                Copy of driving record

  • Student completes CPT or ASSET Test. 
  • Student interviews with San Juan College TTEN instructor. 
  • Student interviews with sponsoring dealership. 
  • Student is accepted by sponsoring dealership.
  • Student must submit application for admission to San Juan College with $10 application fee and first semester's tuition of $180. Only cashier's check or money order will be accepted. 
  • Student requests official high school, college transcripts, or GED scores to be sent to San Juan College, Office of Admissions and Records. 

Entrance Assessment

Before being accepted into the TTEN Program, you must take the Computer Placement Test (CPT) or the ASSET test, have an interview with the Automotive Department, and have an interview with their sponsoring dealership.

The ASSET or CPT results are used to determine the student's English, reading, and math skills.

Automotive Department Interviews

The interview with the Automotive Department is used to determine the interest level of the student, past work experience, and employability.

Dealership Interviews

The dealership interview will generally follow the interview at San Juan College with the Automotive Department. There are however, circumstances in which a student might interview with the dealership before interviewing at San Juan College.

Applicants are not accepted into the TTEN Program until they have been accepted by San Juan College and a sponsoring Toyota Motors dealership.

Note: Applicants who do not meet the required scores on their CPT/ASSET test but meet all other requirements, may be accepted into the program upon completion of the course work necessary to bring his/her scores up to an acceptable level.
