Patrons who are unable to locate needed material from the SJC Library collection can request an Interlibrary Loan (ILL). ILL staff members will search the collections of other libraries (public and academic) nationwide for requested items. When the SJC Library does not own an item that is needed, ILL is a helpful option to consider.
This service is available to SJC library patrons only.
Requests may take 10-14 business days or longer to process and receive; when a time factor is involved, it is crucial that requests be made as soon as possible. A fee may be charged in some instances. Blank forms are available in the library.
Forms for various types of ILL requests that can be completed online are found here:
Magazine and journal articles
Media and other types of multimedia
If you prefer, forms to download and print for all types of ILL requests can be found on the Interlibrary Loan form Download page.
Please note that all requests are subject to approval.
Before placing an ILL request, please be sure that the SJC library does not already own the item needed.
If you have any questions, please contact the reference department by phone (566-3256) or by email.
