Program Outcomes

Cosmetology

  1. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of infection control, anatomy and physiology, skin structure and growth, nail structure and growth, properties of hair and scalp, chemistry and electricity.
  2. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of professional hair care, including hair design, shampooing, haircutting, chemical restructuring, extensions, hair enhancements, and hair coloring techniques.
  3. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of different types of facials, massage manipulations, hair removal and facial makeup; students will recognize the contraindications associated with skin diseases and disorders.
  4. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of general nail care, including manicuring, pedicuring, and nail enhancements; students will recognize the contraindications associated with nail disorders and diseases
  5. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of managing or owning a salon, the importance of keeping accurate records, knowing tax laws, and state regulations.
     

Cosmetology Certificate

  1. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of infection control, anatomy and physiology, skin structure and growth, nail structure and growth, and properties of hair and scalp, chemistry and electricity.

  1. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of infection control, anatomy and physiology, skin structure and growth, properties of hair and scalp, chemistry and electricity.
  2. Student will demonstrate understanding and application of professional hair care, including hair design, shampooing, haircutting, chemical restructuring, extensions, hair enhancements, hair coloring techniques, and shaving.
  3. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of different types of facials, massage manipulations, hair removal and facial makeup; students will recognize the contraindications associated with skin diseases and disorders.
  4. Students will project a professional image (including dress and hygiene), communicate effectively, and demonstrate ethical behavior in the workplace.
     

Esthetics Certificate

  1. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of infection control, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, electricity, and nutrition.
  2. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of physiology and histology of the skin, and disorders and diseases of the skin. They will have knowledge and be able to analyze the skin and what products to use.
  3. Students will set up a treatment room and demonstrate understanding and application of different types of facials, massage manipulations, hair removal and makeup.
  4. Students will project a professional image (including dress and hygiene), communicate effectively, and demonstrate ethical behavior in the workplace.
     

Cosmetology Instructor Certificate

  1. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of various methods of teaching, evaluating, philosophy, and professional development in the field of Cosmetology.
     

Manicuring/Pedicuring Certificate

  1. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of infection control, anatomy and physiology, skin structure and growth, nail structure and growth, properties of hair and scalp, chemistry and electricity.
  2. Students will demonstrate understanding and application of general nail care, including manicuring, pedicuring, and nail enhancements; students will recognize the contraindications associated with nail disorders and diseases.
