student financial aid Cost of Attendance

The Financial Aid Office has established student expense budgets, or costs of attendance (COA) based on whether a student will pay in-state or out-of-state tuition and has indicated (on the FAFSA) an intent to live with parents or not. Students can receive a combination of different types of aid rather than just one kind. This may include grants, scholarship money, work-study, or loans.

The total of financial aid awarded cannot exceed the Financial Need.

To determine your Financial Need the EFC is substracted from your Cost of Attendance. For example:

COA / Student Budget (fall & spring 2013-2014)
 $  9,470
Expected Family Contribution (EFC)  -   2,000
Financial Need = $7,470
