Office of Technology Services

The Office of Technology Services (OTS) at San Juan College provides the leadership, guidance and technical skills required to establish and support an information technology architecture and accompanying services that support the vision, mission and goals of the College.

OTS Team Responsibilities

Chief Information Officer (Shelley Amator)

Administrative Services (James Ross) provides ongoing support maintenance and enhancements for the college administrative applications including Datatel Colleague and WebAdvisor.

Web Services (Dave Miller) maintains the public facing San Juan College web site and the internal MySJC portal. Web services is responsible for updating web pages, setting website priorities, managing website development resources, overseeing Content Managers in maintaining institutional web pages, ensuring a consistent look and feel throughout the website and granting access to the web management tools.

Media Services (Mike McDonald) installs and maintains all multimedia classroom, conference room, and meeting room audio visual (AV) equipment. They also provide AV staffing for special San Juan College events. Additionally, Media Services offers video teleconferencing services, and provides audio and video recording services for guest lecturers, concerts, plays, classroom and meeting room activities, and produces promotional videos in support of the mission of San Juan College.

Network Services (Thomas Thompson) provides support for all network infrastructure. This team installs, implements, maintains and supports network equipment, servers, video over the network, phone systems and other server based applications. This team is also responsible for planning, installing and maintaining the College’s cable plant.

User Services (open) provides desktop computer and peripheral support, pre-purchase consulting, and oversees the campus PC refresh plan, SJC help desk and the college computer labs. The Help Desk is a 24x7x365 single point of contact that assists faculty, staff, and students resolve first-level technical problems, and requests. On-site technicians are dispatched to resolve hardware and software problems, perform installations, and repairs. Shift Leaders and student workers provide first-line assistance to all Campus Computer Labs.

Online Services (Sam Bachert) provides support for all faculty who utilize the Learning Management System (ANGEL). We also provide training for faculty and staff with ANGEL and other tools that assist faculty to teach courses through the Internet.

Training Services (Lynn Lane) provides customized technology training to all San Juan College employees. Trainings can be scheduled for groups or one-on-one by appointment.
