San Juan College has been recognized as one of the most outstanding two-year colleges in the nation. Our state-of-the-art multimedia classrooms, academic support programs and modern facilities create a great environment in which students can successfully reach their educational goals. Student services, counseling, career planning, tutoring, and extracurricular student activities also assist in insuring student success. Although, enrollment exceeds 9,000 students, classes remain small so that students can receive individual attention from instructors.

San Juan College is fully accredited by the Higher Education Commission. Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees are available in a wide variety of degree programs. These degrees are designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college after completing their studies at SJC.
San Juan College is located in Farmington, New Mexico. The city has a population of approximately 50,000. The county population is about 100,000. San Juan County is bordered on the west by the Navajo Indian Reservation. The Indian culture adds a great deal to the heritage of the county. The area climate is moderate. Residents enjoy four distinct seasons with mild winters and pleasant summers.

Major industries include coal-generating power plants, extensive oil and gas productions, as well as a multitude of service industries.

Many visitors are attracted to the Indian ruins in the area such as Chaco Canyon and the Aztec and Salmon Ruins. Outdoor activities abound with water sports available on nearby Navajo Lake and some of the best fishing in the United States found in the nearby rivers. Additionally, the Colorado mountains are a one hour drive away so there is something for everyone!
