Humanities Art Balcony

A Vanishing Colorful Culture

Feb. 13 - March 7, 2014

Reception: Feb. 13  – 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Humanities Balcony.

May Howard will display a collection of oil paintings focusing on Southwest and Native American themes in her exhibit A Vanishing Colorful Culture in the Humanities Balcony Art Gallery at San Juan College beginning February 13 until March 7

Howard enjoys “painting the beauty and strength of native people, the horses and the colorful landscapes.” She hopes to share with her viewers, a vision of a time’s nostalgic and wistful heritage that is being forgotten. Howard’s paintings are vividly life-like and her still life pieces often feature detailed Native American pottery, patterns and artifacts.

An opening reception will be held on Thursday, February 13, from 3-5 p.m. For more information, call Cindy McNealy, 505-566-3464
