Biography

Karen began teaching at SJC in 2000. She is trained as a sociocultural anthropologist, and her dissertation research was conducted among the Navajo. Before coming to SJC, Karen worked for the Navajo Nation Historic Preservation Department as a specialist in Cultural Resource Management. She lives in Red Valley, Arizona and is married to Timothy Benally, Sr.
