The Alternative Teacher Licensure Program at San Juan College is a post-baccalaureate professional development program that offers three licensure tracks:
- Elementary Education – 19 credits
- Secondary Education – 16 credits
- Special Education – 21 credits
The Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) accepts candidates with a bachelor’s degree or higher who wish to become teachers. Courses in this four-semester program are sequenced to cover the New Mexico Public Education Department Teaching Competencies and prepare candidates to meet the State of New Mexico requirements for teacher licensure.
