The first show in the 2012-2013 Silhouette Series Performing Arts at San Juan College will feature the Golden Dragon Acrobats of China, Friday, September 14, at 7 p.m., in the Henderson Fine Arts Center Performance Hall.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats are recognized as the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company today. Led by world renowned impresario Danny Chang and choreographer Angela Chang, the group displays art and culture through award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary music and theatrical techniques.

Tickets for the Golden Dragon Acrobats show are $20 for adults, $18 for students and seniors, and $12 for children ages 12 and under. The Silhouette Performing Arts Series features 22 events, and season passes are available for adults for $119 and $95 for students and seniors.

Based out of Montreal, Canada, but originally a family group from Chad, H’sao blends African rhythms with soul, pop and R&B infl uences to produce fresh songs with a unique style. The six singer-songwriters perform a cappella to produce a vast landscape of worldly sounds.

Classically trained and multi-talented, the Lowe family entertains with abundant musical, theatrical and dance talents. The Lowe’s amaze audiences with a combination of classical, Broadway, Irish, jazz, bluegrass, old-time favorites, six-part harmony and gospel.

The monks of the Gaden Shartse Monastery spread peace, harmony, compliance and tolerance through cultural exchanges, sacred dances, chants, empowerments and Buddhist teachings. In addition to the April 30 performance, the monks also will prepare the Sand Mandala, a hand-made diagram comprised of different colored sands in symbolic images, April 29 – May 3, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., in the Graphic Arts Foyer.
