DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. John Burris as he shares his experience traveling by research vessel from Alaska to Oregon as part of SeaSTEM, a national initiative connecting community college educators and students with hands-on STEM research experiences. Hear what it was like to experience oceanographic research at sea, work alongside scientists and educators, and explore the technology, data and career pathways behind Earth and marine sciences. Burris will also share how he plans to bring what he learned back to San Juan College and create new opportunities for students to experience STEM beyond the classroom.
