San Juan College’s Planetarium offers both students and community members the opportunities participate in exploring the world of astronomy. An array of shows offered throughout the year along with videos on the dome using SJC’s new digital star projector. The Planetarium is home to a 24′ dome, with a seating capacity of 60. A visit to the planetarium is designed as a learning experience in the science of astronomy.

There is no admission charge for planetarium presentations.

Planetarium operating season is year-round for public shows! Our AstroFriday presentations are offered once per month. School shows run from September through May. In addition, given enough interest, sometimes summer short classes can be made available for children through the Community Learning Center.

  • School shows offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
  • Daytime filtered telescopic sungazes offered once per month on Friday mornings
  • Presentation time slots are offered as outreach to schools on some Friday mornings
  • Public shows once per month on Friday evenings
