CompTIA certifications are recognized throughout the industry as the standard for proving foundation-level skill sets and are the only industry-supported, vendor neutral programs on the market today.

CompTIA offers four Core certifications:

  • IT Fundamentals (36 hours) is a pre-career certification focused on IT foundation framework
  • CompTIA A+ (69 hours) is focused on user support and device connectivity
  • CompTIA Network+ (60 hours) targets core system connections with endpoint devices, and
  • CompTIA Security+ (36 hours) is focused on entry level cybersecurity skills.

CompTIA certifications are credentials achieved through a testing process to validate knowledge within a specific IT support function. Academy includes necessary books and payment for the certification exams.

Looking for paid, on-the job training? Our apprenticeship program aligns with the CompTIA Academy and is COMPETENCY-BASED, meaning students become accomplished in various required skills before receiving the apprenticeship credential.

  • The program provides 201 hours of related instruction through the CompTIA Academy, which is offered over the course of four months. This instruction is provided through 4 courses: CompTIA IT Fundamentals, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+.
  • Apprentices must receive the CompTIA Fundamentals Certification at the end of the first class, prior to being placed with an employer.
  • Following placement, the student will complete the remaining 3-month required technical training. During this period, students can work between 20-40 hours per week.
  • Upon completion of coursework, apprentices will move into full-time on-the-job training until the remainder of the competencies have been met, a full year in the program and 2000 on-the-job training hours are completed.
